Why Google maps were not loading & how to get rid of the "Shift + R improves the quality of this image" message

Is suddenly Google Maps not working on your computer? Are you using a mobile broadband dongle? Then read on, it might help you:

About two or three months ago Google maps had suddenly without any obvious reason started to load extremely slowly on my PC, practically becoming unusable. The maps wouldn't load in any browser (tried Chrome, Internet Explorer and Firefox) and I couldn't think of any particular software installation or update that could have triggered this. A search on google revealed that others had had this problem too. Google's own maps troubleshooting page suggested clearing the cache. I tried, it didn't work. Reading on some forums, I found that other have solved the maps loading problem by inactivating some Firefox plugin. I didn't have Firefox installed at that time (only installed it after the problem begun) so that wasn't the solution for me. I didn't know what else to do and wasn't keen to hunt for viruses or reinstall my operating system, so I started looking at what other maps alternatives I could use, of which I found Yahoo Maps really good and easy to use.

Last week I eventually decided to find a way to remove those "Shift plus R/A improves image quality"annoying messages I'd had for the past few months (couldn't remember exactly when they started). A search showed that many other people with mobile dongles were getting these messages, which were related to the internet settings set up by the provider/dongle software. In short, the dongle internet provider has activated an "accelerator" on the system which slightly improves download speed by decreasing image quality in the browser. If the user wants to see the images at their original quality, they have to click the Shift + R or Shift +A combination. It's usually that this accelerator can be inactivated either in the settings of the dongle software you have installed on your machine or online at an address like accelerator.t-mobile.co.uk For me the online settings worked, and I finally got rid of those annoying hoovering messages and poor image quality. And surprise or not, Google maps started loading fast again!

Is the Blogger template design page not loading? Are you unable to view and edit your blog template in Blogger? Disabling the web accelerator had helped me with these problems too!
